What you'd actually do
- Run onboarding for four to six new yards a month: kickoff call, data import, training, and a check-in after their first billing run.
- Clean up messy customer data — spreadsheets, ancient exports, sometimes literal paper — with our import tools and a careful eye.
- Teach over video, and occasionally in person; some yards want you to walk their dock once before they trust the software.
- Feed what you learn back to product. You'll know before anyone else which screens confuse new customers.
- Work from the Portland office — imports run on a big second monitor next to the support team, and half the job is grabbing them for edge cases.
What you won't be doing
- No sales quotas. By the time a yard reaches you they've already bought; your job is making them glad they did.
- You won't read from a script. Every yard's mess is different, and you're trusted to handle it your way.
How we hire for this role
Intro call — 30 minutes
With our support lead. Your background, the job as it really is, and why this one is on-site.
Paid data exercise — 2 hours, $150
One genuinely messy anonymized spreadsheet. Show us how you'd get it clean and what you'd ask the customer.
Office visit — half a day
Sit with the team in Portland, watch a real onboarding call, and see the desk, the docks, and the coffee machine.
Offer within a week
One reference, numbers in writing, and a week to decide. We'll cover travel costs for the visit either way.
